Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem. Our mission is the one the Order began with in Jerusalem nine centuries ago, the care of the sick, the poor and the forsaken.

A tradition that began in Jerusalem
The medieval Order of Saint Lazarus began at a leper hospice outside the walls of Jerusalem. In 1995 the Grand Priories of England and Scotland founded the United Grand Priories, which carry on its work as a registered chivalric organisation.
Today the Order is listed as a non-governmental organisation within the United Nations and is a member of the European Disability Forum, the European Network for Independent Living and the World Association of Supported Employment.

The Grand Priory of Bulgaria belongs to an international confraternity that for more than thirty years has carried on the work of the medieval Order of Saint Lazarus.

6th International Lazarite Symposium and 35th Solemn Investiture
The Grand Prior took part in the Symposium, opened by the President of Malta, Myriam Spiteri Debono. At the 35th Solemn Investiture, Chevalier Asen Margaritov was received into the Order as a Knight of Grace.

Mission to Wobulenzi, Uganda
A delegation under the patronage of Chevalier Dr Johann Debono KCLJ CMLJ delivered food and supplies to Happy Times Childcare Home, home to more than 170 children without parents.

Thirty years of the United Grand Priories and the 34th Solemn Investiture
The Order marked in Malta thirty years since the United Grand Priories were founded in London in 1995, with a visit to the President of Malta and the 34th Solemn Investiture.

Mission to Kampala, Uganda
The delegation visited the Ewafe transitional home of Kids Club Kampala and delivered food and household supplies.

A new Grand Prior for Bulgaria
At the 33rd Solemn Investiture in Malta, the Supreme Grand Prior installed Chevalier Svetoslav Boyadzhiev as Grand Prior of Bulgaria and invested the first knights of the revived Priory.
